About Seth

I began knitting a couple of years after I finished college, when I was a young actor living in the East Village in New York City. My roommate at the time (who is also one of my best friends from high school) always had some kind of knitting project going while we watched TV, and one day I asked her to teach me. My first project was a simple black and olive green striped scarf that was very tightly knit, and with the leftover yarn I decided to add a questionable amount of fringe. I don’t know where that scarf is these days, but that first project was the beginning of my involvement with a craft that would grow over many years. I really like to knit items that have texture, and I’m inspired by classic menswear. I also enjoy clever uses of color and I look forward to designing more multi-hued creations.

A few years ago, my husband and I moved to Portland, Oregon, where I am constantly in awe of all of the creativity around me. The landscape of the Pacific Northwest is a delight to be around, too, and I enjoy going for hikes along the countless trails in the parks and forests nearby. I’m also a long distance runner (with several marathons and one Ironman triathlon on my resume), but a couple of years ago I traded endurance sports to return to the equestrian sports I loved as a boy. Those few hours I get to spend with the horses is the highlight of my week.
